Virtual B2B meeting showcases Sri Lankan gemstone companies in Indonesia

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta, in collaboration with the Export Development Board (EDB) of Sri Lanka, hosted a virtual B2B meeting to introduce four Sri Lankan gem-exporting companies to Tulola Designs, a jewelry brand from luxury in Indonesia on December 17th.

Tulola Designs was launched in 2007 by designer Sri Luce-Rusna to take patterns and designs from Indonesian history and create modern jewelry collections. Tulola Designs wanted to buy blue sapphires, pink sapphires and rubies from Sri Lanka for their new collection.

EDB’s Industrial Products Division Export Promotion Officer Dilsha De Silva gave a presentation on Sri Lankan gemstone and jewelry industry. Attendees of this B2B meeting included the purchasing team of Tulola Designs from Indonesia and leading Sri Lankan gem exporting companies such as Gem Paradise, Punsiri Gems, Priyantha Gems and Zam Gems.

In 2021, Sri Lanka exported gemstones worth USD 0.12 million to Indonesia. Sri Lankan Ambassador to Indonesia Yasoja Gunasekera said the Embassy is happy to connect Sri Lankan gemstone exporters with companies like Tulola Designs, and proud to showcase Sri Lanka as the top destination. for precious stones. The Third Secretary (Commercial) of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Indonesia, Heshani Premathilaka, coordinated the meeting with the EDB.
