The owner of a jewelry store shot dead in Batangas

LUCENA CITY – Police reported on Sunday that a 50-year-old woman was shot and killed at a jewelry store she owned in the town of Talisay, Batangas province, on Saturday morning.

Talisay police reported that the still unidentified shooter entered the jewelry store in Barangay (village) Sampaloc and claimed to be a customer of victim Victoria Balba at around 10:45 a.m.

As Balba entertained the potential buyer, who wore a white t-shirt and jeans and described as being around 50 to 55 years old, short with thin white hair, the man suddenly pulled out a gun from fist and shot the victim in the head. , investigations have revealed.

The assailant fled aboard a motorcycle without a license plate. The victim died instantly.

Police said the gunman got nothing from the store.

The police are investigating further to unmask and arrest the perpetrator.
