Lake Travis companies offer zipline tours and a floating obstacle course

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — There’s no shortage of fun at Lake Travis, whether you’re boating, swimming, fishing, or just having fun on the shore. Two companies offer unique adventures for families looking for something different: Zipline Adventures on Lake Travis and Adventures on Lake Travis Waterloo.

Lake Travis Zipline Adventures, the only zipline company in Austin, offers a three-hour tour consisting of five ziplines. Admission is $135 and covers equipment, transportation, and all-day access to the company’s lakefront property. A reservation is mandatory and the company has promotional codes available.

Participants must weigh between 70 and 250 pounds and be able to walk at least one mile. People with chronic heart conditions, recent surgery or pregnant cannot use the zip line, according to company policies.

Once a month, the company offers a “Night Flight” that looks exactly like this: a zip line at night, complete with a headlamp and glow sticks. Groups can also book events.

Zipline Adventures is located at 14529 Pocohontas Trail in Volente and its season runs from March 1 through November 30.

On the other side of the lake, Lake Travis Waterloo Adventures is hosting a floating obstacle course:

Admission to Waterloo Adventures is $63, and the company offers discount codes. Any visit requires a reservationwhich can be made by phone (512-614-1979) or online.

Participants must be at least seven years old, 45 inches tall and able to swim. Selfie sticks and jewelry are not allowed on the inflatables. The company provides life jackets and participants cannot bring their own.

There are also activities and dining options on the shore.

Lake Travis Waterloo Adventures is accessible by boat and guests should park at 14602 1/2 Pocohontas Trail, Leander (Monday-Friday) or 13987 FM 2769, Leander (Saturday-Sunday).
